The cold tease of the bright sun is an almost cruel pretense an early bicycle season. The first Pizza Ride was rained out, we still had a super fun Pizza Party here at the shop followed by a great UVM Public Philosophy Week talk all about bicycles!

We are probably still a couple weeks away from our first group rides of the season. In the meantime we’ve got some fun other things happening.

Yesterday Darren, owner at Vermont Bicycle Shop, appeared on Vermont Public’s Vermont Edition! They had a great episode themed around personal mobility (bicycle commuting) and the challenges Vermonter’s face finding their way by bicycles. And helped present and talk about solutions for users to make the choice to navigate our state without a car. You can listen to that episode here:

Seven Days have launched their Daysies nominations. Vermont Bicycle Shop and other businesses have gotten great attention and won awards from Times~Argus and other publications and organizations. We’ve always felt like it’s been a little difficult to get good attention from Seven Days. We’re encouraging folks to nominate and vote for their favorite Barre business! Let’s give Seven Days a deluge of Barre!
