Barb and the Pride Ride crew have picked this weekend for the Presidential Rail Trail Ride that we attempted earlier this year! We’re also going to use this event to begin our ‘Darren Trains for Ride the Ridges’ rides!
This is a Pride Rides event, and to that end and above all, Vermont Bicycle Club folks who are joining on this ride need to know how and be willing to make a safe space for our LGBTQIA friends.

Date: Sunday August 9th
Time: 10AM meet up at Pondicherry Trail Head
Time: 10:30AM Wheels Roll
Location: 289 Airport Rd, Whitefield, NH 03598 Parking lot for Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge
Maps hint: Type in Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge instead of the address for the most accurate GPS directions
Ride length: allow for 4ish hours, not entirely riding, but for stopping to appreciate views, eat snacks, and enjoy the casual paced ride.
Distance: approximately 24 miles

What to Bring: Layers, weather even in the foothills of the white mountains can be unpredictable, have a little wind layer if you usually find you get a little chilly on breezy rides. Snacks and/or lunch! You’ll want to fuel up on this ride since it will span a few hours of riding.
This is a great beginner friendly ride. Mostly flat terrain, dirt/gravel surface, and entirely off road.

Carpooling is a little limited for this trip. We have room 4 people and their bicycles if they are not ebikes (our ebike carrier will be occupied). We want to make sure everyone is fully accounted for and has a confirmed spot! If you don’t receive a confirmation, please reach out so we can make sure you’re all set. Because space is limited, we may not have room for everyone who is asking to carpool, we also won’t be able to accommodate unexpected arrivals on the day of, so make sure you RSVP if you plan to carpool.
