For Everyone
It’s time to show up and ride our bicycles on some ridges. We’re so excited for this weekend. Ride the Ridges week at the bike shop is always full of joy.

It’s like if Norma (the matriarch of the bike shop, pictured to the right) were visiting at the same time as a Pizza Ride weekend paired with a Labor Day bike packing adventure. For us, it is the most wonderful time of the year. And this year the leaves seem to be changing right in tune with our excitement.
Ride the ridges is going to be magical this year.
If you haven’t registered, you can still do so. In fact, you have until tonight (Friday, Sept. 12) just before midnight to register online. After that your last chance is to register in person Sunday morning!
One Last Appeal.
In Vermont we’ve enjoyed decades of rides like Cabot Ride the Ridges. Rides that are organized by volunteers, routes designed by the people who have ridden these roads for decades, and all for the purpose of raising funds to support local community institutions. Rides where all the funds raised go towards supporting those causes. To raise funds for the Cabot Mentoring Program.
As a someone who grew up in extreme poverty, with loving parents who worked long hours and multiple jobs to make ends meet, the community that supported me mattered. Programs like the Cabot Mentoring Program were important. Mentorship shaped how I learned and taught me to seek out learning experiences, and taught me how to find good and safe people to share experiences and learn skills from. It is what still guides me through life today. It is where I learned the value of healthy relationships, and how I learned to find and connect with people like Norma.
Even if you don’t or cannot ride, consider donating to this valuable community asset:

Most of us are signed up and are indeed planning to ride the 60k (37 mile) route.
We’ll be gathering at check in about 20 or so minutes before the start time of the 60k Ride. Look for us, we’d love to ride with you.
Here is the 60 route:
So come out. Let’s ride the ridges together. I look forward to seeing you out there.
