But on the back side it didn’t say nothing…

We’re super excited to announce the first and second place winners of our VMBA Trail Challenge. With every challenge comes the need to solve problems. First place winner Kelsey Laperle poured over maps, made phone calls, showed up in communities and used her own lifelong experience and knowledge to get her across the last mile before everyone else. She made a plan, she piled into cars with her friends and family, and coerced them to travel all over the state of Vermont to succeed.

Trish Dwyer followed close behind, with an attention to details that helped her tackle the challenge and experience what Vermont has to offer.

There were a lot of challengers that joined the effort and we’re so happy to see so many folks interested and excited to participate. Third place is still up for grabs, and while some folks are close, there is still time to sweep in and win! This challenge isn’t a matter of who’s ridden the most trails, but more about who can get to that last mile, on that last trail, before anyone else.

Congratulations to Kelsey and Trish and well done on a quality effort. You’ve both set the bar high for current and future participants of this challenge.

Thank you so much to Endura Clothing, who have provided an really high quality MTB kit as a part of the first place prize. Thank you to VMBA as well for providing a 2026 membership to the first place prize pool.

All other prizes provided by Vermont Bicycle Shop.

Stay tuned to see who ends up with 3rd place and to hear more from our participants about their experience completing the challenge!!
